Prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions with experienced cardiologists.
Your health. Our priority.
Cardiac care is judged on how fast the right thing happens. These are the things that decide that.
- A cath lab on site and on call, so a heart attack is treated here rather than moved
- Diagnostics in one visit: ECG, echocardiography, treadmill and blood work the same morning
- Consultants who go through your results with you rather than handing over a printout
- Follow-up built into the plan, so medication is reviewed rather than repeated indefinitely

Questions, answered.
Common questions about cardiology care at Humayun Hospital.
I have chest pain right now. Should I book an appointment?
No. Chest pain or pressure lasting more than a few minutes, especially with breathlessness or sweating, needs an ambulance rather than an appointment. Call 108 and come to the emergency department.
Do I need an angiogram to know if my heart is alright?
Usually not. Most people are assessed with an ECG, an echocardiogram and a treadmill test. An angiogram is arranged only when those suggest a reason for it.
How long does a cardiac check-up take?
A first assessment is normally a morning. The tests take about two hours, and your cardiologist goes through the results with you the same day.
I feel fine. Is a heart check-up worth it?
It is if you are over 40, or have diabetes, high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, a smoking history, or a family member who had heart disease before 60. South Asians tend to develop coronary disease earlier and at lower body weights.
